Following member feedback, next year’s Wānanga and Awards will move from their traditional May timing to later in the year — a warmer, lighter time that better suits outdoor site visits, student involvement, and a bit more sunshine for gathering together.

Preliminary dates:

President’s Function: Wednesday 4 November
Firth NZILA Wānanga: Thursday–Friday 5–6 November
Resene Landscape Architecture Awards: Thursday 5 November

The venue and confirmed dates will be announced soon, we'll keep the conference page of the website updated.

Awards submissions will open early in the new year, with plenty of time and guidance to prepare your entries. We’ll also be putting a call out for local projects in Ōtautahi where wānanga participants can visit and learn — if you’re based in Canterbury and keen to host a site visit, watch this space!
