CPD requirements

Registered Landscape Architects are required to Submit a minimum of 30 CPD points each year. The 2024 CPD year is from 01 January to 31 December

There are two categories of CPD activity:
FORMAL CPD (F): An activity with learning opportunities that involve significant participation and interaction between presenter and learner and / or can be formally assessed

  • 2 points per hour
  • Max 20 points per activity

INFORMAL CPD (InF): An activity that involves no formal assessment or process and can be self-driven

  • 1 point per hour
  • Max 10 points per activity

Points should come from a range of activities to ensure a broad approach and include the following:

  • One entry for attendance at an NZILA organised event (national or branch level) either in person or online
  • The total points required for any one year must be comprised of a minimum of 3 different types of activities (formal or informal)

Got questions?

The FAQs on your CPD dashboard covers the categories and details of activities that are eligible, and also what happens if you're late. Please read through first, but if you still have questions please email admin@nzila.co.nz.

If you believe you have undertaken CPD that is eligible for points but is not listed in the table of activities, please complete this form and the NZILA CPD Registrar will assess and approve.

Huge thank you to Megan Harshey, the NZILA CPD Registrar, for undertaking this role and all the CPD reviews.
