December's Update
Kia ora koutou,
Here we are already in December. The last several months have been busy for the new Board and management team as we’ve been on a learning journey, navigating our way around the many facets and responsibilities of Tuia Pito Ora.
2024 NZILA Firth Conference
Regarding upcoming NZILA events, we are delighted to announce that the Firth New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Tuia Pito Ora Wānanga 2024 will be held in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington 15-17 May 2024. We’re looking forward to announcing the kaupapa in the New Year, and would like to give a special thanks to Trina Edwards our Events Manager, and the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Tuia Pito Ora Creative Panel for their continuing hard work on this project.
Registration Interviews
We express our thanks to Martha Dravitzki, Chair of our Registration Panel, along with the 18 panellists who conducted the online registration interviews in early November for 2023. We received 21 applications this year, and it's great to see our graduating members expanding their knowledge and skill sets and investing in their futures.
Recommencement of The Advocacy Panel:
Our Advocacy Panel has had its first joint hui with the NZILA Board and management team. The Advocacy Panel will be supporting the Board to develop a “Knowledge Growth Strategy” which will look to accelerate knowledge growth in climate change adaptation, mitigation, Te Ao Māori, and the interface between these two areas.
The Advocacy Panel will also provide guidance to our new management team with social media and LAA content and identify areas where the industry can effectively advocate for change.
Ngā manaakitanga
