Consultation Open until November 20th
The proposed National Policy Statement for Natural Hazard Decision-Making (NPS-NHD) aims to direct how decision-makers consider natural hazard risk in planning decisions relating to new development under the Resource Management Act 1991.
The Government is seeking feedback on a proposed National Policy Statement for Natural Hazard Decision-making. This is a first step from central government to provide additional support for local government to manage risks to people and property from natural hazards such as floods, landslides and coastal inundation.
The NPS-NHD is out for public consultation from 18 September to 20 November 2023.
