President's Update
When the Pleiades constellation rises in the north-eastern sky it signifies Matariki, the Māori new year.
This seems quite timely and currently resonates well with Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects.
Firstly, we need to highlight the huge contribution and achievements that Vicki and the team have made to NZILA who have been instrumental to the growth and enabled both the institute and profession to evolve and thrive.
Emma Wong continues as our Financial Accountant.
This week we have welcomed Angela Hunter our new COO and Trinity Beardmore as our Administration Officer, both have been kept busy with training and setting up systems.
Our new team will be working remotely and will be spanning the length of Aotearoa/New Zealand from Puhoi to Riverton.
Next week Lori Coughtrey joins us in the role of Operations and Engagement Lead and at the end of July our team will fully be onboard with Trina Edwards joining us as Events Manager
Nominee bios for Board Members and e-voting will be made live on NZILA website early next week.
Our last Executive Committee Meeting will be held in Christchurch on the 19th of July and the new board will take office from the 1st of August.
A special mention to Rebecca Ryder, Melissa Davis and John Brenkley who have assisted with the recruitment process and onboarding of the new team, thank you for the support and Mahi.
We value your patience during the next few months as the team settle in and navigate a new path forward.
