Active Landscape Photography: Diverse Practices
Editor Anne C Godfrey
Routledge Press
Active Landscape Photography: Diverse Practices is the third book in a series developed by Anne C Godfrey with Routledge Press. This book will feature a diverse set of methods that demonstrate rigorous photographic practices within the disciplines of landscape architecture and environmental design. Each chapter will highlight a unique method and practice authored by specific contributors.
This call is seeking contributors world-wide to submit chapter proposals for this book.
This call aims to gather a set of academic and practitioner contributors doing work outside of North America. This peer reviewed process will add to the established core set of contributors for this work. This book is under contract with Routledge Press and expected 2023.
The goal of each chapter is to introduce innovative diverse methods for photography that contribute to the investigation and design decision making process for landscape places. This work accepts and advocates for the many and diverse ways photography is made and used throughout the disciplines of landscape architecture and environmental design. This work also explores how diverse photographic methodologies are a means to acknowledge and represent diverse cultural, racial, historical, socio-political and ecological conditions and experiences. These methods are expected to range from speculative and exploratory to quantitative and data producing.
The series and author: The first book in this series, Active Landscape Photography: Theoretical Groundwork for Landscape Architecture was released by Routledge in February 2020. The second book Active Landscape Photography: Methods and Concepts for Site Investigation is expected in 2022. The third book will be published in 2023.
