Kia ora, e te whānau,
Ngā mihi o te rā.
In the last month we have made progress on forming the conference organising committee and on logistics for the 2019 NZILA Tuia Pito Ora Conference. The overlap with the Lincoln University 50 year celebrations for the School of Landscape Architecture will make this an exciting event, following on from the success of our recent Auckland conference.
We are currently waiting for a response from the Ministry for the Environment to the Landscape Guidelines briefing paper we sent to senior Ministry staff to see if we can arrange a meeting with the Minister for the Environment, the Honourable David Parker. I will keep you posted when we hear back from Wellington.
On 13 August Henry Crothers and I had lunch with Tim Melville and Teena Hale Pennington, the President and CEO, respectively of the NZIA. The discussion covered areas of common interest for the institutes and we are looking at more regular meetings to keep the conversation going.
The BIM workshops are coming up next week. Make sure you register if you are interested in attending.
I have been fielding calls and e-mails from our members on a range of issues, so, as always, if you have anything you want to share with me, then please drop me a line,
Mā te wā,
Brad
