Landscape Architect
Tahuna Kā-muriwai | Queenstown Arrowtown
Great design, varied projects and mountain life. SITE Landscape Architects is a design-focused practice based in Arrowtown. We’re looking for a Landscape Architect with around 2–7 years’ experience, although we’re open to hearing from candidates at different stages of their careers.
Our work spans masterplanning, high-end residential design, streetscapes, reserves, tourism projects, school redevelopments, landscape assessments and resource consent packages. Across every scale, we value strong design, creative thinking and places that reflect the character of their setting.
We’re after someone who loves design. You’ll enjoy exploring ideas and take pride in producing great work. You’ll bring initiative and a willingness to get stuck in and help the team deliver.
You’ll be confident contributing to design discussions, communicating ideas through sketches and visualisations, and developing projects from concept through to implementation. Ideally, you’ll have solid skills in CAD, Photoshop and SketchUp, along with a practical understanding of construction and detailing.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a strong designer with initiative and critical thinking skills;
- Have experience across a range of project scales;
- Enjoy both detailed residential design and larger-scale projects;
- Be comfortable working independently and collaboratively;
- Have strong technical and graphic communication skills;
- Bring sound plant knowledge and an interest in landscape construction.
As a small practice, we offer the opportunity to be involved in every stage of a project and develop a broad range of skills. You’ll work closely with experienced landscape architects, with opportunity to manage projects and help shape the direction of the practice.
We offer:
- Support towards NZILA registration and ongoing professional development;
- Direct mentoring from experienced landscape architects;
- Remuneration that recognises the cost of living in Queenstown, with regular reviews;
- Flexibility to make the most of life in the Queenstown and Arrowtown area;
- A relaxed, supportive studio where ideas are shared and everyone’s contribution is valued.
If you want to create lasting places while enjoying life in the mountains, we’d love to hear from you. Please email your CV and portfolio to rt@sitela.co.nz by 16th November 2026.
