Landscape Planner
Tāhuna/Queenstown (Central Lakes area) or Ōtautahi/Christchurch
We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Landscape Planner to join our professional team and we will leave the location up to you!
Kamo Marsh is a professional planning and landscape architecture business with offices in Queenstown and Christchurch. We have an established reputation for delivering high-quality landscape architectural services to a diverse range of private and public sector clients across Aotearoa/New Zealand. Our work spans a variety of environments for residential, commercial, and educational clients. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and sustainable designs for a wide range of clients while creating a positive team culture built on support, collaboration and fun.
As part of the role, you will be visiting a wide range of beautiful sites around the South Island, providing landscape recommendations, assessing the effects of potential developments. The successful candidate will be expected to create comprehensive written assessment reports, including Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and present evidence at local authority hearings and meetings. The role will also involve developing well-structured, insightful reports that clearly communicate complex design and planning concepts to a range of audiences including clients, consultants, stakeholders and Council.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A degree in landscape architecture and/or urban design.
- Proven experience in writing landscape visual assessment reports.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and well-structured reports.
- Experience and/or confidence in presenting expert evidence for Council hearings.
- Understanding of Te Tangi a te Manu Aotearoa New Zealand Landscape Assessment Guidelines.
- Proficiency with drafting software such as Vectorworks (or similar) is advantageous but not essential.
