Glasson Huxtable is on the lookout for a talented and motivated Landscape Architect to join our friendly and collaborative team in central Christchurch.

For over 38 years, our multi-award-winning studio has delivered innovative and enduring landscape and urban design solutions across New Zealand and internationally, including high-profile projects in the Middle East and Asia. We work across public realm, education, recreation, civic, commercial, and residential sectors. The role will cover the full spectrum of landscape architecture from strategic masterplanning through to detailed design, implementation and assessment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and contribute meaningfully to a design-led practice with a strong reputation for quality and creativity.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (NZ or internationally recognised equivalent)
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Experience with 3D modelling and rendering tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, D5 Render or Lumion
  • Excellent written and spoken English, including report writing
  • Enthusiastic, collaborative mindset and strong work ethic
  • Good planting knowledge and interest in sustainable design
  • NZ residency, citizenship, or valid work visa

Bonus Skills (Highly Desirable):

  • Experience working on large-scale or international projects
  • Landscape assessment experience
  • Experience with planting design for Middle Eastern countries.
