What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will be in a landscape planning role, working on writing assessment reports, including Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and Urban Design Assessments.
  • You will be responsible for crafting clear, structured, and well-researched reports that communicate complex design and planning issues to clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Your work will ensure all project details are captured and presented effectively to support decision-making processes. Depending on your level of experience you may have the opportunity to present expert evidence at Council hearings or Environment Court.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A degree in landscape architecture and/or urban design, with relevant experience, minimum of four years, in landscape planning and/ or urban design.
  • New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects – Tuia Pito Ora (NZLIA) Registered is desirable.
  • Strong assessment and report writing skills – You must be able to produce clear, concise, and well-structured reports in line with NZILA assessment guidance that meet the needs of clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders and presenting expert evidence at RMA hearings as an expert witness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, GIS) is beneficial.
