Spade Aid Planting Day

11 Aug 2019, Queen Elizabeth Park, Wellington

Spade Aid Planting Day

CPD points: 0.5

Sunday 11th August
10am to 2pm

Come along to GWRC's biggest Planting Day.

GWRC have set another  planting day at Queen Elizabeth Park for Sunday 11th August.  The Wellington Branch NZILA have helped plant areas in other years and look to be involved again.

Travelling north on SH1 from Wellington, drive through Pukerua Bay, past Paekakariki and the Transmission Gully earthworks, then take the slip lane turnoff to Queen Elizabeth Park.

SH1 signposts direct you to the Park and the Marines Memorial. GWRC signs on site will guide you from the Park entrance to the planting site.  Further information and postponement notices (18 August if wet) are on the Greater Wellington Regional Council website

We are planning to do some planting over a couple of hours at the planting site, 10am to 12 noon, then go to the memorial tōtara site to check progress on previous plantings.

Please bring a rain jacket, warm clothes and sturdy shoes. If you have them, we would also love it if you brought along gardening gloves and a spade.
