Public Lecture with James Hayter, President of IFLA

12 Sep 2018, Victoria University, Wellington

CPD points: 0.5

Thinking About Landscape

Redevelopment of past manufacturing and institutional sites in our cities compels us to readjust our understanding of nature – people – culture. An authentic design response is often most relevant if it comes from the prior history of the site and careful editing of the remaining fabric. The resultant narrative can transform the way we look at landscape and the role of the landscape architect as orchestrator of change.

About James

James established Oxigen in Adelaide in1996 after working overseas and within Australia in both private and public practice. His skills are in the design and strategic planning of projects with an ability to conceptualise projects and requirements for implementation. Oxigen is an awarding winning landscape architecture and architecture practice exploring contemporary design and authentic regionalism. In July 2018 James was elected President of the International Federation of Landscape Architects. He is a Past President of AILA.
