About this event:
The Sustainability Society are excited to continue our 2021 Webinar series with a session focussing on Te Mana o te Wai.
As we navigate our way through the complexities of the much anticipated water reform, changes to the RMA and an ever increasing need to address the impacts of development of rural and urban landscapes, the imperative to adopt practice and priorities grounded in Te Ao Maori will shape our work over the coming years.
Central to this is the notion of Te Mana o te Wai which is fundamental to the Ministry for the Environment Essential Freshwater programme and the National Policy Statement on Freshwater. These programmes are driving a changing focus on water through sectors including transport, urban development, social sciences, primary production and water services. Te Mana o te Wai, and the principles which underpin it, therefore has the potential to radically transform how we collectively work as we strive to transition to a more regenerative and equitable future in Aotearoa.
We invite you to join this engaging and informative webinar to unpack the meaning and significance of Te Mana o te Wai as it relates to the important work ahead and explore how this can shape the future of our urban and rural landscapes.
