NZILA BRANCH EVENT | Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and the Spirit of Matariki for Designers
7 Jul, Ōtautahi | Christchurch
CPD points: 2.0
About
Join the NZILA Canterbury Westland Branch for an inspiring evening to honour Matariki (Māori New Year), a time to reflect, reconnect, and look ahead with intention.
This special gathering will centre on a rich and engaging kōrero led by Anton Matthews from Hustle Education, who will share insights into the meaning and significance of Matariki. Anton will help deepen our understanding of te ao Māori and its connection to the landscapes we shape.
Building on this kōrero, the evening will flow into a practical tikanga session designed specifically for landscape architects. Whether you’re at the beginning of your journey or looking to deepen your existing knowledge of te ao Māori and tikanga, this workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and develop confidence.
Beyond the learning, this is also a moment to come together as a community, to connect with peers, share kai and refreshments, and celebrate Matariki in a spirit of whakawhanaungatanga.
