Kathryn Gustafson is an internationally acclaimed landscape architect with over 40 years of distinguished practice. As founding partner of two international offices, Gustafson Porter + Bowman in London and until recently, Gustafson Guthrie Nichol (GGN) in Seattle, Kathryn is renowned for creating distinctive sculptural landscapes which engage at a fundamental human level. This is a one-off opportunity you will not want to miss.
An afternoon of Masterclasses – Thursday 29th February, 12 – 6.30pm
Level 3 exhibition space, Architecture Building 421, School of Architecture and Planning, University of Auckland
An incredible opportunity to spend an afternoon with Kathryn Gustafson. Kathryn will be taking two masterclasses, each to be 2 hours duration, with a 90 minute break in between for afternoon tea and mixing/mingling for those attending both.
Masterclass 1: Planting: Conceptual Design to initial documentation; projects from Singapore and Valencia, Spain and maybe a short touch on Art Gallery of NSW, Australia
Masterclass 2: An in depth look at the Eiffel Tower Site: History, Environmental Impact, Concept (including problems, solutions, handling historical monuments, in-depth renovation, sustainability etc)
