Huria Reserve Community Planting Day

Come down to Kaiapoi and help us plant some lovely native plants including haraheke, hoheria, kanuka and the mighty totara.
We will have a coffee cart on site and you can grab a free sausage from the BBQ.
This planting day will celebrate the opening of the Heritage and Mahinga kai project
The Heritage and Mahinga Kai area is located in the south of Kaiapoi. It aims to recognise the significant cultural values for Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga. Mahinga Kai describes the food and natural resources that mana whenua gather in their takiwā (area), as well as the practices they use. The area will provide for social and cultural activities, and include walking trails and native forest planting.
