Thomas Consultants is a growing multi-disciplinary company that offers landscape architecture, project management, planning, engineering, surveying and environmental related services on a range of projects across the Auckland region. We are looking for a forward thinking, experienced Landscape Architect to join the Landscape Architecture and Project Management team in Henderson. Our reputation with local and central government and private industry means you will have a variety of private and public projects to work on across a range of client areas.
About the role
Your effective self-management attitude will see you excel across a wide range of projects and key responsibilities include:
- Preparing schematic, concept and final landscape plan sets, planting plans, construction details and specifications for land development projects.
- Drafting for projects as required.
- Undertaking site assessments.
- Assisting other teams with drafting requirements – e.g. ecology planting plans etc.
- Providing excellent customer service to clients
- Supporting the business development activities of the company

Skills and experience
We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years’ experience in landscape design ideally within a design practice, with a tertiary qualification in landscape architecture, and a current NZ Driver’s License. The ideal candidate will be practical, creative and well organised, and capable of working as part of a team as well as autonomously. Subdivision and open space project design and documentation experience would be an advantage. Good skill level is essential in AutoCad, Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite. A familiarity with Sketchup would also be an advantage.
